Speak at the Planning Commission

The Planning Commission is a board with 26 members appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by City Council. It’s responsibilities include:

  • Studying development issues and making recommendations to City Council

  • Approving and denying variances

  • Reviewing and approving plats

Approval by the Planning Commission is often the first “step” in the development process. Every Houstonian who wants to walk and roll, safely and easily, should care about the decisions made here.
